I'm Not There

Fri Dec 12, 2008, 6:54 PM
:blackrose: :rose: Updates ~ December 12th, 2008 :rose: :blackrose:
I know I haven't posted anything here in quite a long time; that isn't because I don't have anything to post, it's more the fact that our scanner broke earlier in the year... and now this...

By, "this", I mean the fire that my family unfortunately had just last month. :(

Nobody was hurt, but two of our cats are still missing... :(

...so have been living in hotels for the last month, and a half (thanks, Uncle Luke Skywalker! :)); but luckily we finally found a good home - except for the bad neighbourhood :( - back in our hometown.

I'm probably going to have to go without internet for quite some time, after this weekend, or so... whenever we move in.

And I hope by Christmas, I can get a new laptop, tablet, and the family gets a scanner; so that my group can start working again, and so that I can finally put up my Zelda, Nintendo, and Soul Calibur fanart up. ^_^

...one thing that irks me, is how two-faced so many people are; I can't even count how many times I've been disgusted with what people have said, and done, behind not only my back; but my family's back. I'm mostly talking about our now ex-landlord - of *12* long years, and ex-upstairs neighbours - of *6* long years; but there are a few others I'd rather not mention... not even worth mentioning... unfortunately, includes family members... sorry, Gramma... -_-

...so, I'd like to quote my brother, Robert aka Bruce, on this subject (also one of my favourite scenes, from Batman Begins ^.^), since I believe it would go very well here;

"...To all of you, uh, all you phonies, all of you two-faced friends, you sycophantic suck-ups who smile through your teeth at me, please leave me in peace. Please go. Stop smiling. It's not a joke. Please leave. The party's over. Get out."
~Bruce Wayne

...I couldn't agree better, even if that was just an act for the poor fools' safety, hah! =P

Anyways, was mostly updating this to put up some nice requests others have done for me, via the Projects forum - also, have a few requests pending; and I really hope they get them done. ^-^

(...although, since I've been let down before, by dealing with lazy artists... argh... I'm a bit jaded from that; but I feel like I can have more faith in these artists, since they don't seem like that type; from what I'm reading. :))

...plus wanted to add my group, ~CTM-Studios, to my journal, as well. Love you guys. :glomp:

And that I joined a writing project, which you can learn more about here; Fantasy Shared World (Writers wanted!)... (I still gotta get around to filling out the proper form, and stuff... let alone actually writing up something yet... ey ye ye... =P); about the world created by ~StuckInAHole.

I also wanted to announce that after Christmas, whenever I get all settled again; I'll probably be interested in doing request, and art trades - all fanworks are going up on this account; and all original works are going on my group's account, just so y'all know. :)

(title of journal, because Robert was mentioning the Bob Dylan movie, "I'm Not There"; when I was trying to come up with something. :D)

Peace! ^_^

 My (3D) Rapier design - By ~thunder-of-light
:blackrose: My Comments: Since ~thunder-of-light was doing free 3D weapon requests for up to four people, or so... I requested a sword that highly resembles Raphael Sorel's Flambert; and I think they did a great job. ^_^
Because they were having some trouble with colour contrasts, they made multiple colours for the hilt; including dark blue to resemble the Master Sword, since they noticed I'm a Link, and The Legend of Zelda fan (obviously ^^).
Only the sword that my character, in the graphic novel series, will be using; will probably be a little altered, such as having a carnation around the bottom of the blade/top of the hilt. :)

 Enter Bartholomew Wood (aka Seeking The Boggart) - By ~WitchbredWarrior
:blackrose: My Comments: I cannot express enough how much I loved reading this lil' vignette, written by ~WitchbredWarrior - he got my group's characters down almost perfectly, and wrote this scene in such a clever way - you have to read it, to understand what I mean (and have a fairly decent knowledge of folklore, especially the Boggart); which is why I dubbed it, "Seeking The Boggart". ^_^
Bartholomew, and the other characters present in this scene, are from Magicus Quest; which my group, ~CTM-Studios; has been writing, and re-writing, since 2000 - and hopefully, will be online sometime within the next year, as things settle down. ^.^

Thanks for your kind words. You rock!!! Best wishes to you and your family; I'm sorry to hear of your recent tragedy and hope everything works out ok for you all. *Good Vibes*

And I think Heath definitely put himself up on that pedestal with Jack Nicholson. ;)

thats sad to hear that your old home got caught by a fire =( I hope everything is getting better for you by now
and yes, you're right with people being two faced... but I think the best is just ignoring them or accepting the fact that they are this kind of way and not letting them put you down =)

I am looking forward to more art from you =)
and best wishes from me to you and your family, really hoping things will go better for you now

You're very welcome, I really love fantasy themes, and you got it down very well. :)

And thankyou, I hope so, too; especially with Christmas right around the corner. :( ...will be moving into the new place sometime this week, hopefully...

Yes! Heath Ledger did such an excellent job; his performance was truly frightening. :O I hope he wins something for his role as the Joker. ^-^

The Batman movie by Tim Burton is definately a classic; but I think the newer ones are much darker (probably 'cause the Tim Burton one was more like that of the comic - I think, since haven't read Batman =P).

Thankyou, yes, everything is getting better; despite the stress of moving around quite a bit. ^^; ...this new place is nice, from what my family has told me; so I'm looking forward to that. :)

Yesh... best to ignore... but it's irritating, because it does get on your nerves easy. :(

...but you're right, it's a waste of enegry to worry about them... thankyou for that. :)

Hehe, I can't wait to put up nice artwork. ^-^
Aww well... and thanks again; that means so much to me.

Oh, I absolutely agree. But I still have a HUGE problem with Christian Bale as Batman. As Bruce Wayne, I think he's top-notch. As Batman...well...he sounds like some guy trying to play the part of Batman.

I think Nolan and Burton got the idea. As far as I'm concerned, there's only four Batman movies. Those other atrocities never happened. hahah

If you haven't read Batman, I suggest you should. If you're ever interested, I can drop you some suggestions on books to follow.

Yes, Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne was a great performance; it still amazes my brothers how he, and Heath, were able to make such good American accents, when actually they're not American sounding in their natural voices. =P

I thought he was decent as Batman, although, it kind of hurts my throat to hear him making such a deep voice as Batman. ^^;

Yes, Tim Burton, and Nolan, did a great job. :D Which four would those be? It still makes me flinch to remember how silly the movies with Robin were like... I think... those had George Clooney as Batman? Not sure anymore. :P

Hehe, yes, I should. Which books would you recommend? They're always making several adaptations/versions of these comics, it might be tad confusing to follow sometimes, I think; but am not sure. =P

Well, there is a series called "Hush" which is really good. It's two volumes, and you don't really need much knowledge aside from Batman villains. The movies were Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, and the Dark Knight. None of this Val Kilmer/George Clooney silliness. Those movies never really existed; they were just nightmares. lol

Then there is (my personal favorite) "The Long Halloween." Which is a fantastic mystery. You'll even recognize some background characters from the movies, like Sal Maroni and Carmine Falcone.

They're both graphic novels you should be able to find at any bookstore or local comic shop, if you have one.

I'll definately look into, "Hush", then - and yes, those movies were just nightmares, LOL. =P

I can't wait for the next Batman movie... originally, there were rumours of Harvey Dent/TwoFace coming back; but I don't think so. IGN made an artice about maybe the Riddler, or Ra's Al Ghul's (sp? =P) daughter, being in it... hmm...

My brothers have mentioned reading about, "The Long Halloween"; so I'm pretty sure we'll be getting that one. Maybe by Christmas. ^_^

Okayies, thanks again for that; will be looking into them for sure. :D

thats good to hear =)
yes, it takes a time after you settled down in a new area, also to relax from the stress a move causes, but if its a nice area it'll be easier to do so =)

you are very welcome! =)
